Tulku Orgyen Zangpo Rinpoche

Tulku Orgyen Zangpo Rinpoche was born in the Himalayan Mountains. At six years of age he received the Buddhist Refuge Vow. Shortly thereafter, he formally began the path of Dharma by entering into Tashi Gomang Monastery. There his teacher Tartong Garlong Rinpoche told him that the teacher he has a strongest connection with in this life is Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche.  He left to continue his studies at the Sertar Larong Buddhist University under the guidance of His Holiness Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche

Rinpoche spent many years studying all areas of the Dharma. His training included Buddha Shakyamuni's Mahayana Sutra Teachings and Commentary, including the sutra commentaries of Nagarjuna, Shantideva, and Shantarakshita. He also recieved Buddha Shakyamuni's Vajrayana Tradition through Padmasambhava, and the entire cycle of teachings from Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), Kunkyen Longchen Rinpoche, Jigme Lingpa Rinpoche, Jamyang Khentse Wangpo Rinpoche, Patrul Rinpoche, Shabkar Rinpoche, Lama Mipham Rinpoche, and Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche. After recieving these transmissions, teachings, and empowerments he practiced and studied for many years.  Then he traveled to Lhasa to Shindu Monastery to give teachings and empowerments.  Zabtrul Shindu Rinpoche then gave the title of head of the monastery to Tulku Orgyen Zangpo Rinpoche.

Tulku Orgyen Zangpo Rinpoche was recognized as the reincarnation of Padma Rangdrol Dorje Rinpoche, the former Dharma Master of the Sacred Site of Tashi Gomang, by many enlightened beings, including Dakini Kunzang Chokyi Drolma, Tartang Garlong Rinpoche, and Zabtrul Shindu Rinpoche

Subsequently, the current head of Tartang Monastery, Lhatrul Orgyen Garwang Nyima Rinpoches well as many heads of monastaries, tulkus, khenpos, and monks installed Tulku Orgyen Zangpo Rinpoche as the head of Tashi Gomang Monastery as part of a very special ceremony, bestowing upon him the title of Spiritual Head of Tashi Gomang

Tulku Orgyen Zangpo Rinpoche is currently teaching all over the world while still being the head of Tashi Gomang Monastery.  Right now he is focusing his attention on creating The Compassion Fellowship.  He says that teaching in the United States is very important because there are lots of people here who really want teachings.  His dream is to create a temple here in the United States to allow for practice, teachings, and dharma studies.  Anyone who's heart feels open towards helping beings in this way is very welcome to.  If you feel this way please contact us for information about donating to fulfill this dream.
